Shot for just $20,000 in January of 2013, Christina Raia’s Summit had its world premiere at this year’s Manhattan Film Festival, where it won Best Horror Film. It will screen at Scare-A-Con next month and hit VOD sometime in early 2016, and on tap today is the first teaser trailer.

Summit is described as a character-driven horror drama that pays homage to the slasher genre in its seemingly cliche set-up. The film aims to bring a fresh amount of depth to modern horror.

It works on a face value level as an eerie thriller that will shock and unsettle you but is also a deeper film that explores human nature and relationships,” says Raia. “It aspires to be a notable addition to not only the horror genre but independent cinema in general.”

Written and directed by Christina Raia, the film stars Lauren A Kennedy, Rob Ceriello, Emma Barret, Ricardo Manigat, and Ryan Kramer.

Synopsis:
Five college friends hit the road for a ski trip. When they end up at the wrong location and can’t backtrack because of the intense cold and secluded surroundings, they decide to take shelter in an abandoned house overnight. But when they wake in the morning, things are not quite what they seemed, and it’s too late to turn back.
