Independence Day: Resurgence Wraps Filming
Director Roland Emmerich has tweeted that Independence Day: Resurgence, the long awaited sequel to his 1996 alien invasion blockbuster, has completed filming. There was also a nice surprise in the sky on the wrap day (no, not an alien spaceship).
and that’s a wrap on @IDResurgance. Thank you Albuquerque, New Mexico, you’ve been amazing. @NewMexicoFilm @Newmexico pic.twitter.com/baqa44sJeu

The first film grossed $817.4 million when it was released 19 years ago, so a sequel is better late than never. Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman will reprise their roles, but the question is, can the new movie gross anywhere near as much as its predecessor without the box office draw of Will Smith, who was one of the main reasons why the first was such a hit? Guess well find out when it’s released on June 24, 2016.
