Guillermo del Toro Wants Godzilla To Appear in Pacific Rim 3
WARNING! This article contains awesomeness overload! So you know how we all watched Pacific Rim and wished that Godzilla would show up to make things even more crazy? Well, our wish may be coming true.
In an interview with MoviePilot, in regards to a possible cross-over, Guillermo del Toro was quoted as saying:
“So far with the sequel, what we’re writing, what we’re creating, is very different, so there are no plans. Hypothetically, I would love the fuck out of it. I would love to see a jaeger and Godzilla duke it out. That would be too much for the human brain.”
The man has a history for expressing interest in projects that never see the light of day, so let’s bury this in the depths of the Pacific Ocean for now, and in some ways, it may be a good thing that it may not happen. After all, seeing the King of the Monsters himself going up against the Jaegars may be too much awesomeness for the human brain to handle, causing our heads to explode.
But with both franchises being distributed by Legendary Pictures, there could be a sparkle of truth to this. We can dream…
Godzilla 2 will be released on 8 June 2018, and Pacific Rim 2 on 4 August 2017, in addition to an upcoming Japanese Godzilla film. And if that still wasn’t enough, the aptly titled comic Godzilla in Hell #2 is now on sale.
