Ridley Scott Begins Work on Prometheus 2
Fans of the Alien franchise are in store for no shortage of treats in the coming years, as Neill Blomkamp is developing a sequel to the original franchise while Ridley Scott is working on a follow-up to pseudo-prequel Prometheus. And according to Scott, pre-production is well underway.
In an interview with Empire, Ridley Scott officially confirmed that Prometheus 2 will be his next movie, and he noted that work on the sequel has already begun.
“I was already on to my next movie!” said Scott, when asked about the release date of The Martian being pushed forward before filming had wrapped. “I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is Prometheus 2.”
Ridley Scott will return to the director’s chair in early 2016, set to begin filming Prometheus 2 this coming January. The sequel, as we previously reported, will not be connected to Blomkamp’s Alien film, being produced by Scott.
We don’t yet know much about the plot of Prometheus 2, but it has been confirmed that both Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender will be reprising their roles from the first film. The Xenomorphs are not expected to appear in it, though Scott teased there will be alien creatures.
More on this one as we learn it.
