Slash Producing 80s Style Throwback Slasher Film
Musician Slash has recently been dipping his toes into the horror genre, producing 2013’s Nothing Left to Fear as well as upcoming film The Hell Within. And he’s showing no signs of slowing down, as the iconic rocker is also working on a throwback slasher flick. Read on!
Per THR, Slash has teamed up with Revolver Picture Company, the genre production company behind movies such as Haunt and Beneath, to produce a horror movie that aims to launch a new scary movie franchise.
Brian Sieve (Boogeyman sequels 2 & 3) has written the script for the untitled film, and while the plot is being kept under wraps, it harks back to popular slasher franchises of the ’80s like Halloween and Friday the 13th.
“We knew [Slash] was into horror movies so we had a big long dinner,” said Revolver’s Nick Phillips. “He gets it, from the old Universal classics to the 70s, and yes, excitedly for us, the 80s.”
“They had an idea that tied in perfectly with a theme that I was working on at the time,” added Slash. “From there, together with Brian Sieve, I think we developed something awesome.”
