You know how students are often told about how important their school assignments are, how they will determine their future, etc.? Well, for Class 3-E, failing their assignment will mean the destruction of the world. How’s that for student motivation?

That’s the basis of YĆ«sei Matsui’s Assassination Classroom manga, in which a mysterious, seemingly omnipotent and indestructible octopus-like creature dubbed Koro-Sensei (unkillable teacher) decides to teach a class of hopeless students. He also vows to destroy the Earth within a year, so the students are promised a huge cash reward if they can kill him. But not only does he evade all their assassination attempts, but he also proves to be such a great teacher that they start to have second thoughts. The series has sold over four million copies in Japan.

With the first film having its US premiere at the Austin Fantastic Fest, a poster for the sequel, titled Assassination Classroom: Graduation, has made its way online. It shows everyone’s favourite teacher looking proud on the day of his students’ graduation, accompanied by a tagline which translates as “Please don’t forget me.” Because having an invincible octopus as a teacher is really something that would slip your mind.

The sequel will feature an assassin from the manga known as “The God of Death,” who is hired to kill Koro-Sensei.

Assassination Classroom: Graduation will be released in Japan next year.
