Jeepers Creepers 3 Soon Taking Flight
Though it’s hard to understand how Victor Salva, a convicted pedophile, is still allowed to make movies, the truth is that Hollywood runs on money – and the Jeepers Creepers franchise, whether you like it or not, is one that has proven profitable in the past. And so another sequel is on the way.
Myriad Pictures has announced today that Salva will return to write and direct Jeepers Creepers 3, which they are financing. They will also be handling international sales for the long-gestating sequel, which has been in various stages of development for the past several years.
Jonathan Breck will reprise his role as the Creeper, and Brandon Smith will also return as Sergeant Davis Tubbs. In the film Tubbs works with a task force hellbent on destroying the Creeper, and the monster fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever to learning the secret of its dark origins.
“Writing and directing a new Jeepers film, the first in over a decade, is incredibly exciting,” said Salva. “For me and I believe for Jeepers fans all over the world that have been asking for more. What will go before cameras as Jeepers Creepers 3 is a new and terrifying chapter from the Jeepers universe. We are bringing back the Creeper’s truck and will be addressing the big questions about The Creeper: what it is, where it came from, and why it does what it does.”
Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope, which produced the first two films, will co-produce along with Kirk Shaw and Surai Gohill’s Odyssey Media and Stan Spry’s The Cartel. Coppola, Shaw, and Spry will serve as producers, and Myriad’s Kirk D’Amico will executive produce.
The film is slated to go into production in Vancouver in the first quarter of 2016.
