Rei Mikamoto’s zombie manga series Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw will be turned into a live-action film, which will be released in Japan in January.
The manga follows a girl who has to stop her evil classmate after she turns the other members of their class into zombies. This involves the help of a very big chainsaw.
Established horror director Hiroki Yamaguchi, known for Hellevator and Wonogawa, will direct. Rio Uchida will take the lead role; have a look at her in character below.
This won’t be the first screen adaptation of Mikamoto’s work; his series Reiko the Zombie Shop and Kyonyū Dragon also received the live-action treatment.
