Shark Flick The Shallows with Blake Lively Filming in Australia in November
We recently brought you news of the announcement of In the Deep, Jaume Collet-Serra’s shark movie with Blake Lively. Now we have word that not only has the film been renamed The Shallows, but it will be filmed at the Village Roadshow Studios at the Gold Coast, Australia, in November.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is pleased about the shoot because of its benefits to the economy.
“I’m very pleased they’ve chosen Queensland, where they will have the opportunity to make the most of our world-class facilities including the purpose-built water tank (the largest in Australia) and our world-class crews and cast. The Shallows will showcase Queensland’s stunning beaches and employ around 130 crew.
Screen Queensland CEO Tracey Vieira is also clearly happy about it…
“Queensland has long been known for its filmmaking capabilities, but now the state is really being showcased on the screen globally through international productions filming here. This will ensure that the legacy of The Shallows lives long beyond the physical production and attracts more international production to our shores.”
The Shallows follows a woman played by Lively, who is stranded on a buoy and menaced by an unrelenting great white shark. No other cast members have been confirmed yet.
