DVD and Blu-ray Releases: September 15, 2015
This is the last official release list of the summer, and you know what that means: Autumn is right around the corner, so horror movies are in plentiful abundance. Last week saw 29 releases, this week has 18, next week will see 15, and the 29th of September has a whopping 31 releases – and we haven’t even gotten into October yet.
First things first… if you were expecting to see pre-Freddy Robert Englund in 1976’s Eaten Alive, I have some bad news. It’s been pushed back by a week. Check back next week for more details on that release.
Seeing as we’re approaching the most magical time of year, a lot of you will be psyched on the Unrated Producer’s Cut of Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers. Who doesn’t like Paul Rudd, especially when he’s in a horror movie?
TV fans may appreciate this week’s releases of “The Returned” as well as the second season of “Sleepy Hollow.” Check out the Television section for more details.
Fans of the golden age of black and white movies will get a kick out of the Boris Karloff Collection. You can check out 6 of his classics from 1935-1942. Additionally, you can then jump a decade to the Attack of the Killer B’s 10 B-Movie Collection, which spans 1955-1973. As usual a good deal of these movies have been released in other collections prior to this release, but maybe there are a few you don’t own yet.
Lastly, if you’re like me and enjoy stupid humor titles, check out the A Haunted House / A Haunted House 2 Double Feature. While I certainly enjoy when a movie can terrify the pants off of me, I like when a movie is blatantly silly. Parody and sarcasm are two of my favorite things in the world, but that’s just me.
There are also a bunch of other titles in addition to these that will be dropping this week, but I don’t want to ruin the surprises for you so go ahead and finish the article. As always, pleasant viewing, and I hope the change in seasons is good to you.
