SDCC 09: Writers Talk Fourth Feast Film

San Diego Comic-Con 2009While at Comic-Con, both Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan were ready to let fans know whether or not we can expect a fourth installment in the Feast franchise.

Melton explains, “What happened with Feast 2 and 3 is that we wrote two separate movies with three storylines set in the past, present and future, and then they all come together at the end. The studio deemed doing both scripts as too expensive so we did part two and extended it into the third movie.”

“That third script still exists as its own script, but we’re not sure if it will ever get made. We’d love to see it happen so there is a potential for Feast 4. We’re keeping our fingers crossed,” Melton added.

From working with George Romero on everything from Creepshow and Dawn of the Dead to Tales from the Darkside to the Dune miniseries to his Netflix series Residue...he's done it all. He even directed Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which was Andrew LaSane's Scarred for Life pick, which is one of Terry's favorite movies. We chat about his long history in cinema; about how he started working with Romero to some insights into Tales from the Darkside. And we discuss his latest work, the novel Residue: Paramentals Rising, which is a sequel to the Netflix show. After learning about his horror history--including a memorable viewing of Night of the Living Dead--we find out why The Haunting terrified him as a twelve year old.
