Clown Apocalypse: Tim Miller’s Not Clowning Around
Tim Miller, splatterpunk/horror author, is at it again, but then again when isn’t Tim producing great horror for our brains to soak up? Seriously, I don’t think his mind ever quits; after releasing Clown Apocalypse, his tenth book so far this year, he’s since had two more (Dollhouse and Mister Socky) published and is working on another as we speak.
Always keeping us entertained and enthralled to the very end with each of his books, Clown Apocalypse doesn’t hold back.
Synopsis:
In this spin-off from the April Almighty series, the Happytown clowns are back! The clowns are more terrifying than ever and ready to spin their own tale of death and mayhem. Icy Kate is on the the loose after escaping from Jericho Systems. Her mentor, Mad Maxwell, is imprisoned somewhere beneath one of Jericho’s facilities.
Nolan Collinsworth is a washed up child actor. Now 45 years old, he’s hanging on to what little celebrity he has left. After accepting an invite to a horror convention in Odessa, Texas, he thinks he’s on the way to a comeback. Except Icy Kate and her band of clowns decides to crash the convention, turning it in to her own personal funhouse of horrors.
Damien Carter is a tracker with Jericho Systems. The only way he can stop Katy is with the help of Mad Maxwell. Can he get inside the deranged clown’s head in time to find Katy and save the people of Odessa? Or will Mad Maxwell turn him into a pawn in another of his silly games?
Can anyone stop the forthcoming Clown Apocalypse?
****Note: This is a standalone story. While it is a spin-off, no previous reading is required for this book****
I freaking loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Sure, I had some reservations at first being that the killers were those evil clowns and all, but once I started reading, I was taken into a world of madness, filling my mind with things that made me feel dirty and in need of a shower, but in a good way.
Clown Apocalypse has mayhem and madness that keeps you wanting more and a variety of characters to keep you entertained. It’s every nightmare anyone who is afraid of clowns has had, and anyone who is not afraid of clowns will have after reading this book. These clowns are the worst kind; they are what nightmares are made of.
These Happytown clowns are from Tim’s previous April Almighty series, but you don’t need to have read those books in order to start reading this one, although I would highly recommend reading those as well because they’re freaking brilliant.
This book will leave you wanting more. You’ll crave more clowns, more mayhem, and more murder, but most of all you’ll crave for a hero to save the day and yourself. But don’t worry; Tim tells me the next chapter of the Clown Apocalypse will be out soon, and it’s going to be wilder than ever, and I for one can’t wait!
