Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room Hits Theaters on April Fools’ Day
Writer/director Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room screened at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and won the Audience Award at Fantastic Fest, and I’m still jealous of those who were able to check it out. I’m a huge fan of Blue Ruin and Murder Party, so I’m more than happy to watch anything Saulnier throws at the screen. Fortunately, the filmmaker’s latest critically-acclaimed endeavor is headed to theaters next year.
The Wrap reports that Green Room, which tells the story of a band’s encounter with a group of neo-Nazis and their deranged leader (Patrick Stewart), will open in select theaters on April 1 — April Fools’ Day. After expanding to additional theaters on April 8, it will hit screens nationwide on April 15.
In addition to the always enjoyable Patrick Stewart, this violent thriller stars Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat, Anton Yelchin, Mark Webber, and Macon Blair (Blue Ruin).
Be sure to add Green Room to your calendars, folks; and when you’re ready, check out a clip from the flick below.
Synopsis:
Broke, tired, and at each other’s throats after a cancelled gig, a young punk rock band accepts a sketchy matinee show to get themselves home. When they stumble upon something they weren’t supposed to witness, the quartet is trapped in a terrifying siege.
