Player Beware, You’re In For A Scare! Goosebumps Game Coming On October 13
Despite selling upwards of 400 million copies in its heyday, RL Stine’s Goosebumps has fallen off the radar as of late. If the soon to be released movie’s a hit, then that will change, and a tie-in game has also been announced that will help bring the series back into the limelight.
Leaked back in August, it’s being developed for the Xbox One, PS3 and 4 by WayForward Technologies, the guys behind Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The announcement of the game comes in the form of a very, very long post on the PlayStation Blog, detailing everything from development to gameplay, and even Scholastic supported the project by providing many of the books for the developers.
Gameplay wise, this will be a point-and-click adventure set before the events of the film, with many of the classic monsters making appearances, and, in typical point-and-click style, will contain over 50,000 words of text (by comparison, the Goosebumps books were usually around 18,000 words). Guess they’ll be a lot to see and do in the game when it’s released on October 13.
