True Blood Finds a King and Some Season 3 Teases
The finale of Season 2 of “True Blood” may have only aired last night, but don’t think for a second that the creative minds behind the show are taking any sort of break. Creator Alan Ball recently revealed a few choice tidbits of what we can expect in Season 3 including some tasty casting news.
Thanks to the Ausiello Files of EW.com, we’ve learned that Tony winner Denis (Quarantine, Duplicity) O’Hare will portray the King of Mississippi with “interesting things happening between him and Evan [Rachel Wood]’s Queen” to look forward to.
As for other new characters, according to Ball we’ll be introduced to the werewolf Alcide and “will also meet Sam’s blood relatives, the super bad vampire Franklin Mott, Debbie Pelt, [and] the people who live in Hotshot a little bit ahead of schedule. We’ve already broken four episodes and I’ve sent two writers out with scripts over hiatus.” When asked if had any regrets for killing off the well-received character of Godric so quickly, he teased, “He and Eric had a relationship for a thousand years. We can always go back and see him again.”
Ball also promised that the new season is “probably going to premiere around the same time it did this year. We’re going to try to shoot one episode before the Christmas break. I don’t know if HBO will bring the show back earlier, but it certainly won’t be later.”
