PewDiePie and Robert Kirkman Collaborating on New Web Series
Love him or loathe him, PewDiePie (real name Felix Kjellberg) is here to stay. How some random Swedish guy became the biggest video game streamer on Youtube is beyond me (I’ve always been more of an Angry Joe guy myself), but with over 10 billion views and 40 billion subscribers, he must be doing something right.
With the dawn of YouTube Red upon us, it’s been announced that Kjellberg’s working on a new show that will be completely different from anything that he’s ever done before. Called Scare PewDiePie, it features him in scenarios based on the horror games which he plays, with the aim being to scare him as much as possible.
He’s thrilled to have been given the opportunity to take part: “I’m so excited to FINALLY share what I’ve been up to! Shooting a show like this in a completely new format has been so much fun! We just wrapped shooting, but I still feel unsure every day if I’m safe or not from another scare. I can’t wait…”
As as if Kjellberg’s presence wasn’t enough, another huge celebrity is on board in the form of The Walking Dead creator and comic book superstar Robert Kirkman, who is just as happy to be involved: “This has been a big year for Skybound, and Scare PewDiePie is a huge part of what has made 2015 our biggest year yet. I am excited that we can finally talk about it. Working with Felix, YouTube, and Maker Studios on this venture has been creatively exhilarating and just plain fun. I trust audiences will love the show as much as we loved creating it.”
Scare PewDiePie will go online next year.
