After a successful crowd-funding campaign earlier this year, filmmakers Jeremy Gillespie and Steve Konstanski (Father’s Day, Manborg) are gearing up to start filming The Void next month, and ahead of this year’s American Film Market, we’ve got the latest on the project. Read on!

Per Screen Daily, UK sales outfit Salt will be looking to ink further deals at AFM on The Void, which begins shooting in Canada on November 17th. In the film, a police officer and a group of staff members band together to fortify themselves within the walls of an isolated hospital which is under threat from a violent cult. As the group prepares for the fight of their lives, they discover the real terror is already inside.

XYZ and CAA will handle North American deals.

Producers are Casey Walker of Cave Painting Pictures and Jonathan Bronfman (The Witch) of JoBro Productions. Executive producers are Ross Dinerstein (The Nightmare), Jeremy Platt, Zach Hagen, and Todd Brown. New York-based 120dB, backer of The Harvest, is providing finance and will also executive produce.

Following a soft launch at Toronto, rights have already been snapped up in Thailand (Sahamongkol); Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam (Golden River); Greece (Odeon); Turkey (Mars); the Middle East (Front Row); the Czech Republic and Slovakia (Bohemia), and former Yugoslavia (2iFilms).
