Pilou Asbæ Takes the Male Lead in Ghost in the Shell
Regardless of how you may feel about it, the upcoming live-action Ghost in the Shell movie is happening, and there ain’t a thing you can do about it. Go and cry if you feel that it will destroy the franchise, but leave us optimists alone so that we can enjoy it in peace.
Variety reports that “Game of Thrones” star Pilou Asbæ will take the male lead in the film alongside Scarlett Johansson, with whom he previously worked on Lucy. His character, Batou, a member of the Section 9 task force, will be instantly recognizable to fans.
Snow White and the Huntsman‘s Rupert Sanders is directing the manga adaptation about a task force assigned to deal with cyber-terrorism.
Ghost in the Shell will be released on March 31, 2017.
