Principal photography began last month on Oliver Irving’s Ghost Team, and the impressive cast immediately caught our interest. Apparently we’re not the only ones, as today brings word that distribution company The Orchard has already nabbed the rights to the upcoming film.

Per Deadline, The Orchard has acquired North American, UK, Australian, and New Zealand distribution rights. No word yet on a release date.

The cast includes Jon Heder, Justin Long, David Krumholtz, Melonie Diaz, Joel Marsh Garland, Paul W. Downs, Tom Schiller, and Amy Sedaris.

Ghost Team is about a team of ghost hunters who get more than they bargained for when they embark on their own paranormal investigation.

The makers of Ghost Team say it will be the first feature to use the new Steadicam Tango, an innovation by cinematographer Garrett Brown on his Steadicam invention.

Peter Warren wrote the script, and Tandem Pictures’ Julie Christeas and Schuyler Weiss are producing with Mott Street Pictures’ Alex Sagalchik and Irving. Preferred Content’s Kevin Iwashinia is exec producing, and he was the U.S. sales agent for the film.
