My Pathetic Vampire Life Explores Going to School for Over 100 Years

The manga series My Pathetic Vampire Life by Rose Ishikawa will be translated into English next year, courtesy of publisher Seven Seas Entertainment.

The series follows Koide, a sixteen-year-old vampire. But he’s been sixteen for a long time. 133 years, to be exact. And he’s been in high school all that time. Most of us can’t wait for high school to end, so as you can imagine, he must be pretty damn bored.

Publisher Jason DeAngelis loves how the series mixes vampires and school life: “Some might say that the time of vampires has come and gone, but in this case the protagonist of the story itself couldn’t agree more! Stories have joked about teenage-born vampires being trapped going to school forever, and this series follows up on that idea to hilarious and sympathetic effect.”

Volume 1 will be released on October 4, 2016, for $12.99.
