J.J. Abrams Restoring Phantasm to 4k from Original Negative
There’s news that gets us excited, and then there’s this… AICN reports that J.J. Abrams and his team at Bad Robot have been secretly restoring Don Coscarelli’s cult classic Phantasm.
It’s been reported that the big bad of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Captain Phasma, was named after Phantasm. The site goes on to report that Abrams’ love for the film doesn’t end there as he has meticulously spearheaded a complete 4k restoration from the original camera negative.
