Universal is currently eyeing Angelina Jolie to star in their upcoming Bride of Frankenstein reboot, and we certainly hope she agrees to tackle the role. Of course, she’ll have to read the script before making any decisions, and that process has begun. Read on for the latest!

Per Variety, David Koepp has been hired to write the Bride of Frankenstein remake, which will be set in the present day and link to Universal’s other impending monster movie reboots. Plot details are being kept under wraps at the moment, as the project is in the very early stages.

Koepp, who has written films like Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Panic Room, and Secret Window, is needless to say a fantastic choice, and if Universal can convince Angelina Jolie to come on board, this one could be something very special. For now, all is sounding pretty damn good.

The film is part of the studio’s endeavor to expand and unify a network of classic monsters led by narrative architects Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan.

Universal’s exec VP of production, Jon Mone, and VP of production, Jay Polidoro, will oversee the project for the studio.
