Guillermo del Toro Says Pacific Rim 2 Not Cancelled
A few days ago The Hollywood Reporter announced that Legendary Pictures had apparently taken Pacific Rim 2 off its release schedule, indicating that though it was initially done for the purpose of more development, the film was now off the table completely.
Someone ought to tell them that Guillermo del Toro has other plans…
“Pacific Rim 2 cancelled? Don’t believe everything you read,” remarked Del Toro on Twitter. “It’s still going and I’ll remain with it in one way or another!”
Del Toro has already turned in the script and the budget to Legendary. The sequel was originally slated for release on August 4, 2017. Stay tuned for more as it comes.
