Supernatural Update: 12th Season Possibilities, Bobby’s Return, The Miz to Guest Star!

We have a whole lot of “Supernatural” news for you today so settle in, and read on for all the details…

First up, The CW gave its presentation to the Television Critics Association this past weekend, and while the network’s president, Mark Pedowitz, didn’t go so far as announcing a renewal of the series for a 12th season, he did say, per TVLine, “Both Jared and Jensen are having a blast.  As long as they’re having a blast, it’s a great thing. The show is performing better than it did last year, better than you could ever hope. I’m very hopeful that we’ll see it again.”

As far as that second item in the headline, Bobby’s is not the only familiar face we’ll be seeing again soon.  TVLine once again gives us the scoop, straight from exec producer/showrunner Jeremy Carver: Jim Beaver, who was last seen providing help from Heaven in Season 10’s “Inside Man” episode, will appear via flashbacks in Episode 11.16 as the beloved Bobby Singer, and he won’t be alone. Joining him will be Steven Williams as hunter Rufus (who was killed during Season 6).

“[Dean and Sam] are going to be investigating an old case that was once investigated by Bobby and Rufus” in what would have been Season 5, Carver explains. “There’s a lot of great throwbacks to things that happened, [including] the wonderful relationship between Bobby and Rufus. That’s going to be a really neat episode.”

But first, one other guest star will be showing up, and it’s not someone you’d expect. TVLine also broke the news that WWE Superstar The Miz (Mike Mizanin) will appear in Episode 11.15, which goes inside “the world of small-town circuit wrestling, which is going to be a lot of fun,” according to Carver.  In the hour, former “Real World” housemate Mizanin will play Shawn Harley, a young, upstart professional wrestler with a temper to match his talent. Harley wants to rise in the ranks and will do so by any means necessary.
