Director Trevor Ryan’s 14-minute short film Welcome to Willits: After Sundown, which premiered at SXSW last year, is currently being turned into a feature by Ryan himself, and today brings a little update on the project. Rory Culkin stars, and he just spilled some beans.

Here’s what Culkin had to say, via Fangoria.

To sum it up, it’s about this type of meth that, if you smoke it, you can see beings around us that may or may not exist. It’s sort of like, this drug is a window into what’s actually going on around us, and there’s a whole question of whether you’re just tripping or your eyes are truly open. I’m really into it.

I play a character named Possum,” Culkin continued. “He’s a drifter that this group of people picks up, and he starts talking about aliens and what’s really going on. It’s a weird part, and there’s going to be a lot of room to play around—he seems like a sandbox of a character.”

Culkin also confirms that Katrina Bowden and Thomas Dekker will co-star.

While we wait for more, check out the original short below!
