Creature From The Black Lagoon Remake Close to Getting Director?
If you thought The Wolfman has had a troubled road to the big screen, brother, you ain’t seen nothing. For better or worse at least the movie got made, which is something that we cannot say about The Creature from the Black Lagoon redux that we’ve been talking about for the past couple of years. It appears there could be a light at the end of the tunnel though ….
According to Variety Universal Pictures is in early talks with Carl Erik Rinsch to direct the remake of the 1954 Universal classic about a prehistoric fishman who haunts the Amazon.
Strike Entertainment’s Marc Abraham and Eric Newman are producing along with Gary Ross.
“Rinsch shoots highly visual commercials for RSA owners Ridley and Tony Scott. The Scotts once courted Rinsch to direct a prequel to ‘Alien,’ until Ridley Scott decided to helm that film, returning to a franchise he originated.”
Ten to one odds if this remake does happen, it will be in 3D, and that would only make sense considering that’s the format the original was presented in. Speaking of which … Got any old 3D glasses handy? Is so, dig the image below!
