J.J. Abrams Talks Possible Third Cloverfield Flick
The days are ticking away until the release of 10 Cloverfield Lane, a “blood relative” of the 2010 found footage creature feature, but that’s not stopping producer J.J. Abrams from talking about the next chapter in the Clovie saga!
“I think that would be presumptuous because we’re talking about this movie and comparing it to Cloverfield,” Abrams told EW when asked if it were more like a new “Twilight Zone” episode than being a true sequel, “but I would be lying if I didn’t say there was something else that, if we’re lucky enough to do it, could be really cool that connects some stories.”
Abrams’ adamant that there is a “larger conceit” at play here. “This is just this movie, and it’s only two films that we’re talking about right now,” Abrams said. “There is something else that we’d like to do, and hopefully we’ll get a shot.”
10 Cloverfield Lane stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher, Jr. Written by Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken, and Damien Chazelle, the film was directed by Dan Trachtenberg.
Look for it in theaters on March 11, 2016.
