Death Note 2016 Teases with Two New Images
Director Shinsuke Sato’s Death Note 2016 should arrive in cinemas across Japan later this year, roughly 10 years since the original live-action Death Note films hit the big screen (Hideo Nakata’s spinoff L: Change the World would arrive in 2008). Following last year’s announcement trailer, two new images from the upcoming horror flick have finally crept online.
According to Film Smash, the first image is from Screen International during the European Film Market, while the second nifty images features Death Note 2016 star Sakura Aoi. The film follows the adventures Detective L as he attempts to prevent the Death Notes, six books penned by the God of Death, from falling into the wrong hands. As you may already have guessed, chances are he’s not entirely successful in his mission. Anyway, what fun would that be?
On a side note, Shinsuke Sato’s involvement pretty much means this flick has all sorts of nifty potential. Although I’m not entirely sure what hardcore fans think, Sato’s live-action Gantz adaptations are fantastic, and I find myself returning to the movies at least once a year. Hopefully, Sato’s talents will serve the Death Note franchise well.
The new Death Note 2016 images, as well as the announcement trailer, reside below.
