Aaron Paul Vying for Dark Tower Role
The Internet is a place rife with rumors that have no basis in fact whatsoever. Unfortunately for us, that means we have to keep a close eye on things as a means to try and decipher what’s real and what’s bullshit.
Early rumors hit that “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul was cast in the role of Eddie Dean in the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Paul himself, is not so sure of the news as evidenced by the actor’s recent Tweet…
Dear @StephenKing,
How goes it my friend? So, about these Dark Tower rumors. What are your thoughts? Could you put in a good word for me?

The Dark Tower books tell the story of the fallen land of Mid-World through the eyes of Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), a sort of frontiersman knight whose primary weapon is not a sword but a pair of revolvers. He’s on a quest to save his decaying world by reaching the tower that stands at the nexus point in time and space.
Matthew McConaughey will play The Man in Black, and Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) has been offered the role of Triana.
The Nikolaj Arcel-directed film will shoot in South Africa later this year. Sony has penciled the adaptation in for release on February 17, 2017.
Arcel shares screenwriting credit with Anders Thomas Jensen, Akiva Goldsman, and Jeff Pinkner; and Goldsman’s draft served as the foundation for the film. The plan is to bring King’s epic story to screens both big and small.
Producers will be Akiva Goldsman and his Weed Road company; Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Erica Huggins of Imagine Entertainment; and Jeff Pinkner as executive producer. Stephen King is also a producer.
