Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival Invokes God’s Wrath on Home Video
Director Darren Lynn Bousman has carved out a pretty slick slice of the genre for himself by injecting some musical numbers in-between scenes of blood-soaked cinematic mayhem. His most recent journey through the horrific realm of song and dance, Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival (review), is heading to a handful of platforms before the end of the month. So if you need some musical terror in your life before March officially comes to an end, you only have a few more weeks to wait.
From the Press Release:
Calling all saints and sinners! The newest installment in the The Devil’s Carnival franchise is coming for your soul! The Devil’s Carnival is a musical-horror-fantasy film series by director Darren Lynn Bousman (director of Saw II-IV) and writer/actor Terrance Zdunich, the fellows behind Repo! The Genetic Opera, a movie outcast by Hollywood, resurrected by cult cinema congregations worldwide, and now embraced as “this generation’s Rocky Horror Picture Show” (Hollywood Reporter). Now Bousman and Zdunich are back, alongside composer Saar Hendelman, with a brand-new chapter: the edgy, genre-bending musical movie, Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival. Starring Paul Sorvino, Terrance Zdunich, Adam Pascal, and Emilie Autumn, this second installment finds Lucifer (Zdunich) inciting Heaven’s wrath by dispatching train cars full of condemned souls a-crashin’ through the pearly gates. As God (Sorvino) plots to put an end to the rebellious deeds, a fable is told, and the midway gets set for a fateful reunion between God’s Agent (Pascal) and Hell’s Painted Doll (Autumn).
After a wildly successful theatrical run, Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival will be made available for home theaters starting March 29 in every format fans have been praying for including digital download, DVD, and Blu-ray!
