The Trace We Leave Behind Fleshed Out
The first word and casting news has arrived for the new Brazilian thriller, The Trace We Leave Behind aka O Rastro, as Variety is reporting that MGM’s Orion is teaming with Rio de Janeiro-based lead producer Lupa Filmes to produce psychological thriller starring Leandro Leal (pictured; A Wolf at the Door).
Rafael Cardoso, Felipe Camargo, Claudia Abreu, and Jonas Bloch also star.
Scripted by producer André Pereira and Beatrice Manela and directed by J.C. Feyer, The Trace We Leave Behind is set against Brazil’s roiling social unrest and centers on bright, recently-promoted doctor Joao, who is tasked with coordinating the overnight transfer of patients when yet another public hospital is closed in Rio. When a young girl patient goes missing, he tries to locate her, and is gradually drawn into a world he wishes he had never entered.
