Actress Emma Bell was impressive during her brief stint as Amy Harrison in “The Walking Dead,” so we’ve got high hopes for her directorial debut, the psychological horror Scratch, which stars shooting this week. Full details below.

From the Press Release:
Making her directorial debut at a time when the industry is taking stock of its many talented female directors, well-known actress Emma Bell from The Walking Dead takes on psychological horror short Scratch. Bell is recognized for her work as an actress over the years in roles such as Amy in The Walking Dead, the series Dallas, popular films Frozen and Final Destination 5, and British film A Quiet Passion playing the role of a young Emily Dickinson.

With the focus on the need for more female directors at the forefront of Hollywood, Scratch, directed by Bell, will be one to watch for.

SCRATCH – “When a repressed 1950’s housewife is left alone by her philandering husband, she makes a horrifying discovery about the noises in the house that are coming from the walls.”

The film, which wrapped principal photography this week, is written by Helen Shang, who was most recently a staff writer on season 3 of NBC’s Hannibal. It stars actress Bel Deliá, best known for her lead role as Natasha Warner in the indie horror hit The Tunnel, which went viral, earned over 15 million downloads around the world with its controversial release, and went on to premiere at Screamfest LA. Scratch also stars seasoned theatre actor Camron Robertson.

With a collective background in horror and a love for classic and modern psychological thrillers, the team are particularly fans of films like Stoker, The Others, and Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Cinematically, the piece takes on a vintage tone with Terry Zumalt at the helm as Director of Photography. The film is produced by Tessa Saville and Bel Deliá.

Now moving into post-production, we can expect to see much more of Scratch in the future.
