Fan-Made Snowglobe Brings The Thing Poster Art to Life

While the internet may be full of fans who spend their time trashing the genre, there are just as many – if not more – who have dedicated their lives to loving and celebrating all things horror. It’s because of those fans that the community is such an awesome place, and we’re about to show you what we mean.

The man behind Chainsaw Estates, a social media account dedicated to creepy art and custom toys, just whipped up a handmade snowglobe in tribute to John Carpenter’s The Thing, using the film’s iconic poster art as the inspiration for one of the coolest horror collectibles we’ve ever seen. Seriously. Our jaws are on the floor.

Primarily made out of Super Sculpey, the badass snowglobe is outfitted with a working LED light inside the dome itself, giving it “the same lens flare effect as the movie poster.” Of course, there are flecks of “snow” floating around in the water contained within the dome, quite literally bringing that iconic art to life.

You can’t buy one, at least not yet, but you can see it in action below!
