Most known to us horror fans for directing 1980 slasher classic Prom Night, Paul Lynch has spent a good portion of his career playing around in the genre, subsequently directing 1982’s Humongous and helming episodes of shows like “The Twilight Zone” and “Poltergeist: The Legacy.” What’s next? We’ve got details!

THR reports that Lynch is directing the indie thriller Deadly Dance Mom, which will start shooting in Toronto next month. The feature comes from Certified Organic Entertainment, and it’s a joint-venture between Factory Film Studio and 9 Light Entertainment.

Beverley Mitchell (“7th Heaven,” Saw 2) and Christina Cox (The Chronicles of Riddick) have landed the lead roles. Mitchell will play Beth, a warm-hearted, widowed mother raising her only daughter, Melanie.

More specific plot details, for now, remain under wraps.

Deadly Dance Mom is produced by Pasha Patriki and Michael Patrick Lilly.
