Russia Has Its Own Hunger Games Knockoff in the Form of Dances to Death

default-featured-image

When Suzanne Collins wrote the The Hunger Games books, she clearly copied Battle Royale. Now the Russians are giving her a taste of her own medicine with their upcoming film Dances to Death (original title: Танцы насмерть), which looks like such a carbon copy of The Hunger Games that it’s almost difficult to tell them apart.

Don’t believe me? Watch the trailer below, and you’ll notice that you can pretty much count the similarities. Remember when originality was applauded rather than being viewed as a dirty word?

Well, at least the VFX and production values look pretty damn good. It’s set to hit Russia later this year, so we’ll get treated to some cool action sequences as well as learn how deep the plagiarism really goes.
