Alex Garland, known in the world of horror for penning 28 Days Later, made his directorial debut last year with the sci-fi flick Ex Machina, and it was needless to say one hell of an impressive first effort. Up next, Garland is ready for an Annihilation, and this latest bit of casting news is sure to make you dance.

The Tracking Board reports that Oscar Issac (Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) has officially boarded the sci-fi thriller, set to star alongside Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, and Tessa Thompson.

The story centers around a biologist (Portman) who, in seeking answers to her husband’s tragic disappearance, volunteers for a government expedition into an area sealed off as an environmental disaster zone. What she discovers, however, is pristine wilderness and a mysterious dark force within it.

Garland will direct his own script, adapted from the novel by Jeff VanderMeer.

The film, which begins shooting later this spring in London, is being produced by Scott Rudin through his Scott Rudin Productions and Andrew MacDonald and Allon Reich through their DNA Films. Eli Bush will oversee for Rudin, while Alana Mayo and Nathan Samdahl are the studio executives for Paramount.

Now then. Time to dance. Take it away, Oscar.
