Exclusive Trailer Debut for Horror Short Lasiurus
We love giving shout-outs to ambitious filmmakers who are prepared to go out there and shoot the shit with the limitations of a tiny budget, so we’re proud to be presenting the trailer for the upcoming short Lasiurus from director Marcus Alqueres, who is clearly set to be going places.
Leonardo Miggiorion stars. Marcus Alqueres serves as DP, writer, director, producer, and head of vfx with Marcos Debrito producing.
Synopsis:
Filmed on a shoestring budget, Lasiurus is a horror short film exploring the first moments of an outbreak. Marcus Alqueres, who wrote, produced, directed, and edited the short, is coming off a deal with Sony Pictures for his eerie The Flying Man — which, to this date, has garnered over 9 million views online.
On his film productions Marcus wears many hats to be able to produce everything on a micro budget, including complex visual effects, due to his experience in the post-production industry. His personal short films range from horror to sci-fi and are also used as proof of concepts to access audiences and potentially develop into a bigger property.
Filmmaker’s Bio:
Marcus Alqueres is a Canadian-Brazilian filmmaker and commercial director who is also a former visual effects artists with credits on movies such as 300, Source Code, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Tintin. He is best known for his critically acclaimed short film The Flying Man, which garnered over 9 million views and is currently been developed by Sony Pictures as a feature film with Marcus attached to direct; Ground Control is producing. In advertising Marcus directed campaigns for Samsung, Honda, and Tetley, among others.
