Latest Dark Souls III Trailer Reimagines the Game as a Cheesy VHS Horror Movie
You have to hand it to Bandai Namco. They’ve really gone all out with the marketing of Dark Souls III. I’ll admit that when I first saw this latest trailer, I thought it was just a fan-made parody, until I realized that it was on Bandai Namco’s official YouTube channel. Kudos to them for their creativity.
So yeah, this trailer reimagines Dark Souls III as a cheesy, low-budget movie on VHS, complete with grainy picture quality, fuzzy colors, a retro soundtrack, and a brilliantly OTT voiceover. From now on, I’m going to live my life by the philosophy of… “When you pick a fight with the devil, you better be stronger than hell.”
Dark Souls III lands in your local video store… sorry, I mean on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 12th.
Synopsis:
A long time ago, in a world deep in the darkest ages, hellish fiends ruled over this land. But one man will rise up and raise a whole lotta hell. When you pick a fight with the devil, you’d better be stronger than hell!
Dark Souls III is available on VHS April 12.
