Jim Parsons Will Star in Bewitching Comedy Man-Witch
Though the above headline may read like an April Fools’ joke, we assure you that it’s not. For the past 10 years, a film entitled Man-Witch has been in the works over at Warner Bros., with both Jack Black and Zach Galifianakis attached at different points. The project has just been given new life, so read on.
Per THR, Jim Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory”) is in talks to star in the latest iteration of Man-Witch, and he will also develop the film and produce alongside Neal Moritz.
The story tells of a schoolteacher (Parsons) who abruptly discovers he’s got witchlike powers. A coven of real witches takes him in, promptly sending him to “witch school,” where he is the lone adult, surrounded by little girl witches-in-training.
Warner Bros. first picked up the pitch in 2005 for a reported $750,000 against $1.5 million.
