I grew up watching Ken Foree as Kenan’s dad in the hilarious Nickelodeon sitcom “Kenan & Kel,” and as I got older, I loved seeing him in films like Dawn of the Dead and The Devil’s Rejects. So I’m really excited to see his next film, Curse of Midnight, which has just wrapped principal photography. Get the skinny below:

From the Press Release:
Principal photography wrapped last Friday on the indie comedy/horror hybrid feature Curse of Midnight, starring veteran horror icon Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead). The film was penned and produced by entertainment attorney Kamal Moo about a couple who travel to a remote cabin to work out their marital differences and encounter a life threatening curse.

Ken Foree, who plays the role of Hamilton, had this to say about his character: “Professional, deceitful, warm, humorous, and possessed! That’s Hamilton!”

Kamal Moo says: “I’ve always been a huge fan of horror movies and was inspired to write a film that would appeal to fans throughout the world. Also, my favorite types of horror films are ones that include a healthy dose of comedy, so I did my best to incorporate those elements as well.”

Gary Nicholson (Typewriter) is also a producer on the project: “I’ve always enjoyed horror films, and after reading the script, I knew it was something great so I jumped on board to produce it.”

Executive producer Jason Dudek (Legacy, Toxin) adds: “The script offers a fresh take on the horror genre, and there’s plenty of comedy mixed in to appeal to a broad audience base. I immediately knew I wanted to be involved.”

Spanish director Aitor Uribarri helmed the film, and it is his first feature.

Kamal Moo arranged private equity financing for the picture. Dudek is repped by Dan Norton at ICM Partners and attorney Jeff Beiderman at Manatt.

The film is set for a fall 2016 festival run with a 2017 multi-platform release.

Along with Ken Foree as Hamilton, the film stars Wendie Weldon as Jessica, Tommy Day Carey as Kyle, Tony Czech as Billy, and Keith Biondi as Dirty Man.
