HBO’s new take on “Westworld” has seen its fair share of troubles getting to the screen, but it seems as if things are back on track. Deadline is reporting that Lili Simmons (“Banshee,” “True Detective”) has joined the cast in a recurring role. Production on “Westworld,” which was halted in January, has resumed.

Simmons (pictured) will portray Abigail, who works in the park and uses her good looks and charm to lure Westworld guests into the saloon.

“Westworld” stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, and Thandie Newton. Their co-stars include Sidse Babett Knudsen, Ben Barnes, Clifton Collins, Jr., Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan, Simon Quarterman, Jimmi Simpson, Lena Georgas, Currie Graham, Ptolemy Slocum, Louis Herthum, Kyle Bornheimer, Demetrius Grosse, Steven Ogg, and Timothy Lee DePriest.

A reimagining of the classic Michael Crichton film, “Westworld” is a mashup of theme-park setting and animatronics with science fiction and Wild West iconography. It’s described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.
