The Twilight Zone Meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers in Upcoming Short Devil Town
Made in the style of both “The Twilight Zone” and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the upcoming short Devil Town is set to hit the festival circuit soon. You’ll find full details below; look for our review tomorrow!
From the Press Release:
Devil Town – a disturbing new short film from Corporeal Films – has just been acquired by ShortsTV and is about to hit the festival circuit for 2016. Written and directed by Nick Barrett and shot with a wintery palette by Marcos Avlonitis, Devil Town features rising stars Johnny Vivash (The Dark Below, Big Bird, Perdition County), Matthew Hebden (Cartwheels, Wasted), and Elina Alminas (Cinderella, Ex Machina).
Devil Town is very much in the classic mold of Invasion of the Body Snatchers or a stumbled-upon late night episode of “The Twilight Zone,” so much so that Corporeal Films has released a classic Rod Serling-esque intro to act as the official synopsis:
Submitted for your approval: one Patrick Creedle, letting agent, a bulldozer of a man whose life revolves around profit and loss, commission and percentage; a man who values the pieces of paper in his wallet more than life itself, save perhaps his own. On this particular lunch hour on this particular day, Patrick Creedle is about to receive a dire warning from a most unusual nemesis – found only in… Devil Town.
Devil Town is currently in consideration for the London Film Festival and will be available to buy through iTunes later in the year.
