Word of a new film with the ghastly title of Ghastlies landed in our inbox this week, and although the details are scarce so far, we thought we’d let you know about it so you can keep it on your radar.

From the Press Release:
Camp Motion Pictures announces its newest production, GHASTLIES, will begin filming in May 2016 in Ontario, Canada. Executive produced by Camp Motion Pictures owner Michael Raso and directed by genre stalwart Brett Kelly (My Fair Zombie, Attack of the Jurassic Shark), GHASTLIES tells the tale of four sorority sisters who accidentally unleash a trio of ghastly ghouls from an underground bunker during a weekend getaway in the country.

The studio promises the film will be a practical effects-laden nod to small creature movies of the ’80s with enough genuine scares to make even a seasoned horror fan check under the bed and is targeting GHASTLIES to fans of Gremlins, Critters, and The Gate.

GHASTLIES is the first feature film collaboration between Camp Motion Pictures and director Kelly, following a series of film licensing agreements that include the zombie/classics mash-up My Fair Zombie, the exploitation homage Homicycle, and the secret agent spoof Spyfall.

According to Raso, “I am delighted to work with Brett Kelly on GHASTLIES. Brett’s a seasoned director with exactly the sensibilities to ensure GHASTLIES works as a self-aware retro-inspired horror-comedy and a genuinely creepy film. And while vampires and zombies will always have their place, I’m looking forward to making a genuinely entertaining horror film featuring some really monstrous little critters.”

Stay tuned for additional production information and concept art soon!
