A Teaser Bleeds Out for Freeform’s Dead of Summer
We’re pretty excited to see what Freeform (formerly ABC Family) has in store for us with its upcoming new series “Dead of Summer,” and today the network released the first teaser to give us a taste of the bloodshed heading our way.
“Dead of Summer” debuts on Tuesday, June 28, at 9pm/8c on Freeform. The cast includes “Once Upon a Time” co-stars Elizabeth Mitchell and Elizabeth Lail, Tony Todd (Candyman), Zelda Williams (“Teen Wolf”), Alberto Frezza (“Charlie’s Angels”), Eli Goree (“The 100”), Mark Indelicato (“Ugly Betty”), Ronen Rubinstein (“Orange Is the New Black”), and Paulina Singer (“Gotham”).
Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Clearwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses—and first kills. Clearwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. Every episode will be centered around one of the counselors.
Series creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (“Once Upon a Time”) directed the first episode. ABC Signature Studios and Kitsis/Horowitz are producing. Horowitz, Kitsis, and Ian Goldberg are writing and executive producing the series.
