Horror movies released in the past ten years don’t get much better than The Orphanage, which was written by Sergio G. Sanchez and directed by Juan Antonio Bayona. It’s for this reason that we’re delighted to report that the Spanish duo will be re-teaming for Lionsgate’s Marrowbone, and we’ve got all the details!

Per Screen Daily, Bayona (A Monster Calls, Jurassic World 2) has come on board to executive produce Lionsgate International’s upcoming Cannes sales title, which will mark the directorial debut of Sergio G. Sanchez. Described as a psychological thriller in the vein of The Orphanage, the film was penned by Sanchez.

Marrowbone (working title) centers on a young man and his four younger siblings plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor where they live and have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together.

Bayona collaborators Belén Atienza, Álvaro Augustin and Ghislain Barrois will produce.
