Lance Henriksen Develops Cat Scratch Fever While Dealing with The Witches of Oz

default-featured-image

Lance Henriksen has battled Aliens, Predator, Pumpkinhead, The Terminator, Sasquatch, and all manner of supernatural and sci-fi terrors. Who would have thought he would finally face his ultimate challenge in the form of an unfriendly pussycat. That’s what happened during shooting of his latest, Witches of Oz, and we have video documentation of this epic encounter.

Witches of Oz is writer-director Leigh Scott’s latest, a fantasy thriller following the exploits of an adult Dorothy Gale (Paulie Rojas, The Last Resort), now a successful children’s book author living in New York City, as she comes to realize her popular books are based on her repressed memories from her own trip to Oz just in time for the Wicked Witch of the West to arrive in Times Square looking to settle an old score.

Scott has assembled an impressive cast for Witches of Oz (in 3D, according to IMDB), including the likes of Chistopher Lloyd as the Wizard of Oz, Mia Sara, Jeffrey Combs, Jason Mewes, Billy Boyd (“Pippin” from Lord of the Rings), and ex-ECW/WWE wrestler Al Snow as the Nome King (God help him when Mick Foley hears about this). And, of course, Lance Henriksen, who appears as Dorothy’s dad still down on the family farm.

Expect to hear more about Witches of Oz real soon. In the meantime, enjoy this wonderful outtake in which Lance Henriksen decides it would be a good idea to hold the location’s cat while shooting a scene. The cat did not agree.
