Kodi Smit-McPhee Stars in Caveman Film The Solutrean
Not sure how Dread worthy this one will end up being, but it’s about cavemen, so I guess we can expect sabre-toothed cats and other prehistoric beasts to be showing up.
Called The Solutrean and directed by Albert Hughes (one half of the Hughes Brothers), this Ice Age epic follows a group of early men and their struggle to survive in a world where everything is trying to kill them. Rising star Kodi Smit-McPhee, known for The Road and ParaNorman in addition to his upcoming appearance as Nightcrawler in X-Men: Apocalypse, leads a cast that also features Leonor Varela, Priya Rajaratnam, and Jens Hultén.
Filming is under way in Vancouver and Drumheller (The Drumheller Mail and What’s Filming snapped some set photos), and we’ll be keeping a close eye on The Solutrean as it develops. It’s about time we had another decent caveman movie, dammit!
