Think you have what it takes to scare us using just one sentence? If so, this latest news is for you! Read on for the details of a new partnership between our friends at Crypt TV and Movie Pilot.

From the Press Release:
Movie Pilot and Crypt TV today announced a collaboration to find the next great “One Sentence Scare” via a fan competition hosted on moviepilot.com. The social-savvy digital entertainment platforms will invite fans across the globe to submit their best “One Sentence Scare,” with the winning submission produced by Eli Roth’s Crypt TV. The resulting video will be shared on both Crypt TV’s Facebook channel and Movie Pilot’s Horror Channel on Facebook, a network of more than 6 million collective fans.

Fans who submit their “One Sentence Scare” horror concept on Movie Pilot will have the chance to witness their vision come to life first-hand – with Movie Pilot and Crypt TV inviting the winner to the set for production of the short. Five contest finalists will be selected by Crypt TV, Roth, and Movie Pilot before a final winner is chosen on Friday, the 13th of May.

“I love Movie Pilot; they’ve been amazing supporters of genre cinema and have a fantastic audience,” said Eli Roth, co-founder of Crypt TV. “We’re excited to join forces to create something exciting with ideas entirely generated by their audience. It’s gonna be really cool.”

Co-founded by CEO Jack Davis and Roth, Crypt TV is a digital brand that produces dark and edgy content. They work with young filmmakers to create shorts, shows, and original series. The ultimate goal of Crypt TV is fundamentally changing the way fans consume and celebrate genre content — in short form, on mobile, every day. Since their launch one year ago, they have produced and released hundreds of genre shorts across social and built a substantial Facebook following, passing 1.1 million fans last month. That social-first, fan-centric approach brought Crypt TV and Movie Pilot together for this collaborative competition.

“At Movie Pilot we’re focused on activating and empowering creative fan voices, and Crypt TV shares that passion,” said Jon Handschin, co-founder and CCO of Movie Pilot. “Jack and Eli know the fans often have the best stories to tell, and we’re excited to tap an enormous horror community on Movie Pilot to create something really special here.”

Movie Pilot averages about 20 million unique monthly visitors and has become one of the top Facebook native video publishers, topping more than 80 million views in April. As a moderated open-posting platform offering fans a voice and mass distribution, Movie Pilot has also become a leader in the influencer marketing space, partnering with top movie studios to connect passionate fans with the content they love most.

“Movie Pilot does such an excellent job giving autonomy to the fans, especially their passionate community of horror fans,” said Jack Davis, CEO and co-founder of Crypt TV. “We’ve seen how well Movie Pilot fans have reacted to walking the red carpet at a premiere or interviewing talent from horror movies. Now we are really excited to see fans’ one sentence scare creativity and turn them into the original short scares Crypt TV has become known for.”

This marks the first official contest collaboration between the two new media companies. By combining creative and distribution forces, Movie Pilot and Crypt TV hope to usher in a more fan-centric approach to horror content, inviting storytellers across the globe to infuse the genre with new voices.
