Simon Pegg Talks Burke and Hare

Filming has wrapped on John Landis’ Burke and Hare, and one half of the ghoulish duo recently spoke a bit about what you can expect from the flick!

“It’s about two guys who murder for money, but you’re encouraged to like them and be on their side,” Simon Pegg tells Empire. It’s interesting morally because it challenges the audience’s perception of who they are. It’s light-hearted, but there’s a very dark, unsettling truth at the heart of it. The gore comes more from the medical side, when they hand over the bodies, but yeah, you see pretty gruesome stuff.”

Along with Pegg and Andy Serkis, Burke and Hare stars Isla Fisher, Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson, Tim Curry, Ronnie Corbett, Reece Shearsmith, David Schofield, Allan Corduner, Bill Bailey, Hugh Bonneville, and Michael Smiley. The film follows two men who turn to killing and grave-robbing as a means of making ends meet in 19th Century Edinburgh.
