Jurassic World Writer Derek Connolly Joins Pacific Rim 2 Team
There was one point in time that Guillermo del Toro was set to direct Pacific Rim 2, though that time has passed. But the good news is that Steven DeKnight (“Daredevil”) was recently brought in to take over, and we’re even more excited about the sequel now that a writer has been found.
Per THR, Derek Connolly, the co-writer of last year’s Jurassic World, has been hired to work on Legendary’s sequel. Previous drafts were penned by Guillermo del Toro, Zak Penn and Jon Spaihts, and at this time it’s unclear whether Connolly was brought in to add to their work or start from scratch.
Pacific Rim 2 may be set years after the first movie, at a time when the Jaegers have become commonplace.
Guillermo del Toro remains on board as producer. Thomas Tull, Mary Parent and Jon Jashni are also producing.
Monsters. Robots. Monsters vs. Robots. Yes please. More please.
